| The structure
of scientific research at Ename is shown in a large graphic display
panel, describing the various disciplines pursued by the members and
colleagues of the Ename 974 team. Also shown is a simulated archaeological
profile, representing a section through superimposed layers. At various
places on this profile there are symbols referring to material or
subjects dealt with by the various scientific disciplinesÖwhich visitors
to the ArchaeoLab will immediately have the opportunity to become
acquainted. |

| In the Archaeolab, visitors
of all ages can put themselves in the place of a scientific researcher.
Various disciplines are presented here: archaeozoology, archaeobotany,
soil analysis, material analysis, dating methods, and historical study.
Visitors are invited to handle and examine the research material appropriate
to each discipline, including actual potsherds, bones, seeds, and
pollen. Also available are reference books and reproductions of archival
texts. In the near future a computer terminal will also be available
in the Archaeolab, providing access to a rich database on the history
of Ename and the process of its archaeological exploration. |
