Driving Directions

Ename is situated near the city of Oudenaarde and can be reached in several ways :

By train and bus : Oudenaarde is situated on the main railroad from Brussels to Kortrijk (Courtrai). There is a direct train from Brussels at least every hour (which leaves for exemple Brussels Central Station at 38 minutes past the hour). At the railway station in Oudenaarde, take bus nr. 41 to "Zottegem" (leaves 9.44 am, 11.44 am, 1.44 pm, 3.44 pm)

By car, take the following route :

  • coming from Brussels

- take the highway E40 towards "Gent" and "Oostende"
- when approaching Ghent, take the highway E17 towards "Kortrijk"
- take exit 8, direction "Oudenaarde"
- you're now on the expressway N60 (continue below "coming from Ghent").

  • coming from Ghent :

- take the expressway N60 towards "Oudenaarde"
- after passing the exit "Oudenaarde", go left on the next roundabout (direction "Aalst")
- cross the railroad and take second street left, direction "Aalst" (N46)
- after 2.5 km, you will see Ename Square and the Saint Laurentius church on your right.

  • coming from Kortrijk (Courtrai) :

- take the road to "Oudenaarde" (N8)
- when entering Oudenaarde, cross the N60 expressway (roundabout) , direction "Aalst"
- cross the railroad and take second street left, direction "Aalst" (N46)
- after 2.5 km, you will see Ename Square and the Saint Laurentius church on your right.

  • coming from Brakel :

- take the road to Oudenaarde (N8)
- after about 9 km, take right, direction Ename
- after 3 km you will enter the center of Ename and arrive at Ename Square.

  • coming from Ronse :

- take the expressway N60 towards "Oudenaarde"
- when entering Oudenaarde, go right on the roundabout with the N8 (direction "Aalst")
- cross the railroad and take second street left, direction "Aalst" (N46)
- after 2.5 km, you will see Ename Square and the Saint Laurentius church on your right.


Ename is situated directly on the Aalst Road. The archaeological site, the Saint Laurentius church, and the archaeological site are located around the central square called Enameplein, which adjoins the Aalst Road.
